(More customer reviews)My kids have many Transformers and they love them. We buy them for all the imaginative play that they provide. I would say that most of them fall apart occasionally (some more then others). My kids are not hard on their toys and this gets to be quite frustrating at times. Jetfire and Jetstorm are by far the worst offenders. They got them today, and I would say I have reattached legs, body plates, etc. more then 30 times in one evening. :O

(More customer reviews)If you owned the original Jetfire that was released in the 80's, and were expecting an all metal version of that classic Macross based design, you will be sorely disappointed. The transformation of the figure differs significantly from the original, enough to make one question the name on the box. Whereas the original allowed me to play Transformers or Macross, this new figure just annoys me.Calling it a metal Transformer is also inaccurate - like calling a car an all metal product would be inaccurate. There are metal parts, but most of the figure is still plastic - not unlike the first generation Optimus Prime from the 80's.That said, the quality of the figure is still good. It's a pain to transform, and not nearly as high quality as the name suggests, but it isn't horrible. If you're looking for nostalgia from your youth, look elsewhere... if you're looking for a toy for your grandkid, you could do worse.

Before the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons broke out, Jetfire was a partner and friend to Starscream. The two were as close as brothers; the one as calm, rational and slow to anger as the other was jealous, erratic and arrogant. When Starscream joined the Decepticons in attacking the Autobot held cities of Cybertron, Jetfire was slow to chose sides. He was hesitant to join in the slaughter of largely defenseless Autobots, but did not want to take up arms against someone he'd considered a friend. Converts from robot to vehicle. Transformers 3" Barricade Keychain Review

He's about 3 inches tall, so, he can threaten your smurfs, should you be so inclined. He's also apparently appealing to cats, who like to munch on his dainty little fingers. Mine's not terrifically old, so probably a newer run, and to be honest, the plastic is more pliable than in the originals that came out with the movie--my Bumblebee feels a bit firmer than Mr. Barricade here.
Arms move at the shoulders, the head turns, the waist turns, and the hips and knees bend. No elbow bend, alas. Still, this way he gets to declaim dramatically, one arm flung over his head. Or both, if you want to give him that "this is spartaaaaaa" look.
Paint detailing is minimal, so you'll probably want to have your silver Testors and a fine brush ready to pick out some of the details, notably in the face/mouth/eyes area. Let's face it though: none of the keychain line were tremendous in painting, old run or new.
Overall, a cute trinket, that with a little paint and TLC, can be spiffed up, but if you want better detail, go for one of the larger figures. Still, he's way better at guarding my keys than Bumblebee.

Transformers Movie 2 Leader Jetfire Review

This figure is abound w/versatility: w/panels that become prime's firearm (in jet charged mode: that's a whole 'nother story altogether!), multiple accessories and a third mode that combines W/leader Optimus, this figure really delivers @ MSRP of 44.99. Although the robot gears and anatomy are eyesore-inducing (aka the phenomenon of "Kibble" as we collectors refer to it), the functionality of Jetfire is more than enough to compensate for it. Has excellent articulation for an item that undergoes a fair deal of transformation (though, in my opinion, Voyager Mixmaster takes the cake for metamorphosis/articulation ratio). The Mech-Alive gimmick is fairly intricate despite its limited range, and the speech gimmick does the trick (however, I thought Hasbro could've strived for more than just a single, eponymous line of dialogue for these leader-class figures).
And lastly, the fusing you can do w/him and optimus is true fun realized: a MASSIVE figure when completed (but more range of motion for the limbs could've been taken into account, but hey, this is Transformers we're dealing with here! We don't need to focus on details, just the BIG picture!) This figure will really add a sense of gravity to wherever it's displayed, at the office (if you don't get into any trouble w/it!), the home, or specifically, in your bedroom or home theater.
Overall, you're going to have a blast with this figure (especially if you already own Leader Prime!), and it is in my strongest opinion that you snatch him up before you have to wait weeks (maybe months!) before you get a second chance at this triple changer of a transformer! AUTOBOTS, TRANSFORM... AND ROLL OUT!

(More customer reviews)This is a pack of 5 legends class figures, which are smaller, simplified versions of their full-sized counterparts. The catch is, this 5-pack makes deco modifications to the items' general releases. Optimus is now almost entirely red, but has nice metallic paint on his grille and smokestacks. Also, his autobot symbol has been moved from his hip to his upper chest. The Fallen now has a lot more orange on him, and a brighter shade of black. Jetfire is nothing special, all that really happened was his limbs turned blue and his decepticon symbol replaced with an autobot symbol. Starscream is now metallic all over. However, the highlight of this set is really Megatron. Unlike his general release, he has a heavily detailed face. It is VERY movie-accurate. The set is a K-mart exclusive, but well worth driving over to your local K-mart to get.
