LEGO Star Wars B-Wing at Rebel Control Center (7180) Review

(More customer reviews)I was very surprised by how innovative the B-Wing fighter ship was by Lego. Its cockpit continuously revolves around the ship. The wings can be left folded down for a travel mode or expanded for combat mode. I think this is the best designed Star Wars Lego ship available. The Rebel Control center included is innovative. It includes a sliding door panel and a large display of the Death Star. Not a plus for those who want to buy a squadron of B-Wing fighters, but it still adds to the set.

(More customer reviews)Me and my best friend decided to buy these, i really don't remember why i had the idea, but we had the money, and it was a cool idea. anyways, we've both seen all the star wars movies, but, really, we weren't big fans. actually, the closest thing we have to star wars in our everyday lives would be the Jedi Guy, who dresses up like Quigon Jin and rides around on his bike downtown every summer. point is, not star wars fans.
so, we bought them, the Luke model, and the Darth vader,[Star Wars Darth Vader Force FX Red Lightsaber] and had the best midnight sword fight ever. we were thinking of returning them too, untill we pulled them out and tried them. there freakin' amazing, for any kid or adult! I mean, these things have got two 17 year olds fighting with toy light sabers at dusk everyday.
they seem to be fairly durable. they have some scratches from being hit together, sometimes a little harder than what was intended, but they haven't broken thus far. and the scratches are only noticeable at a really close range when there on.
Final verdict, everyone should get these. not a must for any star wars fan, but anyone who likes a good sword fight and making a robot voice and pretending they have a long lost son named luke.

LEGO Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great Lego set for kids and collectors alike. The model is very close to the real deal, and has a TECHNIC mechanism that moves the wings and drops small "bombs" from the bottom.
PLAY: Very sturdy for "swooshing" and for attacking evil droid armies. The main wings are solid and are well supported. When using the mechanism to open the x-wings, the wings do have a tendency to move around a bit on their axis. This has the effect of making them non-parallel with the main wings. This only affects the display of the model and doesn't detract from the fun. Clone pilots are well secured inside the model, which opens in two directions to provide easy removal of the troops in case they need to escape. The bomb-release mechanism is interesting and easy to use. I was surprised to find that even with the model's unusual shape, the entire model sits flat when places on a tabletop (with the support wings closed) - no worrying about drooping wings here.
LEARNING: All Lego sets have an advantage over normal toys in that they can be taken apart and built into whatever an imagination can create. These are great for building creative skills.
The only real concern is the relative looseness of the support wings as described above. Additionally, the main wings have large gaps close to the hull where the TECHNIC mechanism for moving the wings pokes through. This hole is larger than it need be, and adding a white plate to the wings here greatly improves the wing stability as well as the overall look of the model. There are also some minor gaps between the hull and cockpit canopies, which can be resolved using flat white 1x4 pieces.
DISPLAY: Looks great on a tabletop or shelf. Surprisingly, its size and fairly good detail allow it to look nice even next to a UCS Tie Fighter or X-Wing.
Great toy with plenty of potential to be rebuilt into some fun models. Can be improved using existing parts to make it a little more structurally sound and closer to the movie model.

(More customer reviews)This is a very cool toy. If it was just a toy rating I'd give it 5 stars. The current price of near 60 bucks is way to high. I picked up this three piece set at a warehouse store this weekend for 17 bucks and each individual potato is only 8 bucks a piece.
This rocks. The case is cool and my two year loves the giant potato to play with, just don't pay more then 25 bucks for it is all.

He says, "I really like this one and none of the parts have broken off. It's got a good design and it's easy to transform, though it was kind of hard to do the back part at first. Most important (sic), it's cool looking in both modes." We've read about some of the problems with Star Wars Transformers, and would be inclined to put this Snowspeeder model in the "good" category with Obi Wan and Anakin, as opposed to the poorly designed Luke and Clone Trooper models.

Transformers Crossovers General Grievous to Grevous Starfighter Review

(More customer reviews)My boys are just starting to watch the Star Wars cartoons and so we bought them a few of the Star Wars Transformers and they love them! First of all, they teach them problem solving in figuring out how to transform the figures. Most of what they do though is chase Grievous around with the Anakin or Obi-wan Transformers! They seem to be holding up pretty well, but like any toys the harder you play with them the more likely they are to break. But if an arm falls off you normally can just pop it back on and keep playing. All in all these are great for the little ones.

They are equipped with two short blasters and one blaster rifle. In addition to the Assassin Droids this set also comes with two Elite Assassin Droid figures (they look like they could also be IG Lancer Droids). They are also equipped with two short blasters. The speeder itself is a simple but very cool build and when finished it looks very sleek and deadly. The speeder is outfitted with two flick-missiles (one each side of the cockpit). The speeder is also equipped with a cockpit that has a seat for the pilot and a seat for the rear gunner. Well, here are the basics of the set:

Hasbro Star Wars Transformers - Obi-Wan and Jedi Starfighter Review

(More customer reviews)If I could I would give this product zero stars. Every cent we spent on this product was a waste. My son just received 5 different Star Wars Transformers for his birthday (Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Obi Wan, Jango Fett, and the Han Solo/Chewbacca sets). I am so tired of Hasbro selling cheap pieces of junk that do NOT hold together for 5 minutes. My son is beyond frustrated and I am tired of continually trying to put the things back together. We had this same problem last Christmas with Hasbro Star Wars figures. My child is not hard on his toys, but within 24 hours a couple of figures had already lost arms! The thing that drives me nuts is that we still have the Kenner figures that belonged to my husband in the 70's and early 80's and they are still in perfect shape. Why can't Hasbro figure out how to copy those designs and create a quality product?!? The bottom line is that they won't as long as consumers continue to buy this junk and not complain. I have contacted Hasbro customer service and I continually get the run-around. They simply seem to not care about the quality of these products.

Star Wars 12" Collector Series Han Solo Review

(More customer reviews)This Han Solo figure (styled from his appearance in Star Wars: A New Hope) was one of the first in the 12" Collector Series line. It's not the work of art that the later Sideshow figures are, but I really enjoyed Kenner's `90s 12" figure line.
Pros - The outfit is very detailed, and is fairly accurate to the film. The weapons (both an Imperial blaster and Han's signature blaster) are detailed and appear to be to scale. The smaller blaster fits in the belt holster.
Cons - This isn't one of the better Han Solo figures, largely because it doesn't really look like him at all. They did a pretty poor job with the heads for that first run of figures. It also suffers from limited articulation. They used a G.I. Joe figure body, which meant rubbery, less-poseable arms and legs.
It pales in comparison to the Sideshow Heroes of the Rebellion Collectibles Star Wars Deluxe 12 Inch Action Figure Han Solo: Smuggler (Tatooine), but this Han Solo figure isn't too bad overall.

(More customer reviews)Ok so I bought this tonite for my son. I figured I take it out of the package and transform it into Anakin. Yeah, I needed the directions. Which is ok, I expected that. But I've spent the last 2 hours looking at them, trying to decide if maybe somehow they put this one together wrong. It doesn't seem to want to flip where it shows it should. Maybe the directions are wrong? Maybe I'm wrong? Anyway I have done it a couple of times and I can see the plastic starting to stress, so I may have to take it back for a different one.
I feel silly, it's a kids toy that shouldn't be THAT complicated, so I'm really hoping it's the toy and not me being dumb.
So, just read the directions first. That's all.

(More customer reviews)just got this new vader transformer...and i have to say im pretty impressed in the look of the sith fighter for darth vader, the details are spot on...even down to the jedi fighters that were shot down stamped on the sides of the cockpit..and the battle ravaged paint job is well done.. this model even includes a vader pilot figure to sit in the cockpit...this fighter looks great displayed on my desk ...and the lightsaber missils are a nice touch and they shoot really far also...
now on to the transformation to robot mode ...well heres where this review gets critical
..the transformation is easy to say the least but when in robot mode its very fragile ...i was afraid i would break this during transforming...the wings are the part that does it..they dont lock in robot mode they just fold back and flop around and dont stay put ...i also collect regular transformers and the constrction on most of those models are more durable when in robot mode(even some of my generation ones are built better)...but other than that if you like star wars this is a good buy just for the sith fighter alone...
if you want a better vader in robot mode..check out the darth vaders tie fighter transformer...that one is more sturdy..

I noticed the joints are starting to get a little loose already, and it has only been since Christmas, but I guess that just means he really likes the toy, and has used it so much, it can't keep up with him.

We sent it back to the manufactuer, and it was months before we heard back that they weren't making it anymore so they would send us something different in it's place. Our son was very disappointed. I'm surprised to see it for sale again after all of that. I wouldn't recommend this unless you didn't ever want to play or transform it.
