(More customer reviews)Ah, Arcee. One of the Transformer brand's most controversial characters. Despite her potential to be one of the Autobot's greatest warriors - as referenced in the Tech Specs of the five toys of her that exist (the 2001 Botcon exclusive, the Heroes of Cybertron minifigure, the Energon figure, the Scout-class Movie figure, and this one) - fan outcry prevented this fair lady from making her live-action big-screen debut with the other Autobots this summer, getting her so far as the concept art stage. However, that planned design hasn't gone to waste: this movie-styled Arcee makes an appearance in IDW's Movie Prequel comic, and now, despite a mysteriously-blue retread of the Energon mold in the Scout class, we're finally getting a Deluxe-class Arcee figure from a totally new mold based on that unused character model.
Of the movie figures I own thus far - and that entails pretty much the entire robot cast - Arcee has proven to be one of the simplest to transform and most durable of the bunch. Her transformation actually isn't too much removed from her Energon counterpart - this one even has a component of the bike that pops off to become her weapon, which, again, here is a crossbow. Also, this version of the character has a lot more purplish-pink going on, making her color scheme a bit more consistent with her G1 namesake. About the only thing that's likely to make TF aficionados frown in bewilderment is Arcee's face - like all the other Movie TFs, she's got a kisser only her creator could love. Still, I doubt the TFs would have come to Earth looking for romance (at least in most cases). The bike mode isn't too shabby either, and in another feature that distinguishes this figure from the rest of the Deluxe size class, Arcee's alt-mode is about the right size for most 3 3/4" action figures - so Arcee's the perfect transportation when you need Scarlett to maneuver her way through HISS Tanks or if you finally want to see Aayla escape the Clone Troopers.
In the final analysis, I found Deluxe Movie Arcee to be one of the more enjoyable figures in the TF Movie line, and hopefully we'll get a chance to see her shine in a sequel.

It's great to see someone making an action figure for an old classic silent movie like "Metropolis".
My only problem with this action figure is they gave Maria the robot giant boobs. Don't get me wrong,
I'm a guy who can apprieciate a nice set of big boobs on a woman, but in this case it takes away from the
authenticity of the figure. The original movie robot was not so well endowed.
It was also disturbing to me since I bought one of these figures as a christmas present for a friends daughter.
She is facinated with modern Sci Fi robots like Cameron of "Sara Conner Chronicles". I wanted to give her an apprieciation for film history and thought this would be a good way, but I don't think the big gazongas really sends the right message to a young gal. Really ladies, take it from a guy who apprieciates the female form,
big jugs are nice, but they are in no way the most important feature.

The flagship figure of the new Silent Screamers (dubbed the "Reel Masters" line) would have to be "Maria from METROPOLIS." Based on the character from Fritz Lang's visionary 1926 epic, Maria is one of the original robots of sci-fi. Sleek and sexy, Lang's Maria had the metallic finish of C-3PO but the curves of Britney Spears she was every sci-fi fan's dream before there was such a thing as a sci-fi fan.Like Aztech's figures, Mezco's are exaggerated variations on the original characters. Maria, for example, measures in at about 7 ? inches high a fairly standard size for these figures. But consider that her chunky, platform boots account for about an inch of that, and her legs another five - this Maria is a robotic supermodel! And don't even get me started on those Double D's with a chest like that, it's no wonder Maria was able to start a rebellion among the worker class so easily in the film. I'd overthrow my oppressors in a second for a chick like that.So traditionalists should stand warned that Mezco does take liberties with their designs. But while their figures tend to be hyper-stylized, they still manage to convey the original look of the character as well. With Maria, for example, there is no doubt who the doll is supposed to be, and other elements of her overhaul are simply the result of the transition from black and white to color. Whereas the robot was gray on film, she is now metallic silver, with some purple and blue highlights.Maria has around 13 points of articulation (in her neck, shoulders, wrists, hips and knees), though unfortunately her fingers are stiff and immobile. She also comes with an "industrial throne and docking station" on which she can sit; faux-fiber optic cables stream from the chair and plug into its base, and a couple of these cables also run out of the back of the robot's head. As with all of the figures, a "collectible trading card" is included in the package.
