(More customer reviews)I purchased the Tuff Stuff Tape Recorder for my 6 yr. old daughter. She LOVES it. This product is absolutely perfect. Not only is it tough and durable, but it makes operating it very easy and self-explanatory for the kids.
Its large buttons are color coded with illustrations on them to indicate their use. The STOP button is red, the PLAY button is green. There is even an illustration inside the cassette area to indicate which way to insert the tape.
The microphone is a big hit with the kids. They can slide a lever to change their voices to sound like an alien, chipmunk, monster, or robot. They can even record themselves. The voice-change feature is best used while the child is wearing headphones. Only the child can hear the voice-change, which can be a great benefit for tired parents.
This tape recorder features a port for a 6-volt AC adaptor (not included) and a port for headphones (also not included). This player operates on 4 C batteries, which ARE included.
The only different thing about this player is the fact that one must hold down the forward or rewind button. I believe that this was intentional and is a way of saving on the batteries and the life of the cassettes. Either way, it's a very minor thing.
If you're looking for a good first tape player, then this is the right one. It's inexpensive, backed by the Fisher Price reputation for quality, and has all the features you could possibly want. I am totally satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

I believe the MSRP is somewhere around $25 and they are selling it for $60!!!! Give me a break. That is so ridiculous. I would love to get this for my daughter for Christmas but I am not stupid enough to pay this price for it!

(More customer reviews)I bought this last year for my then 2-year-old son when it first came out for [...] Since I ordered it on Amazon, sending it back would mean losing out on a big chunk of what I paid for it in return shipping, so we just kept it. It was one of the worst toy purchases I have ever made.
The puppy's voice is not very pleasant, in my opinion, and upon loading up the software you'll find that at least 80% of the names available to give your puppy are female names. It's not that big of a deal, but my son wanted his puppy to be a boy and the voice sounds like a boy, so I didn't quite get the lack of male names on the software.
My major gripe is the total lack of variety. On the first day, the puppy says only 2 or 3 different things. As he grows, he says one new thing each day and repeats all the others. It gets extremely repetitive very fast. The bone and brush (if you can manage to not lose them) are fun at first because the puppy says something specifically about the item, but the bone is tricky to get in the right spot. You have to push it against his nose more than put it in his mouth. Still, it made my son giggle quite a bit when the puppy burped the first few times after having the bone.
The growing aspect is also lacking. It does not grow as much as you're led to believe. A few inches is about it. And due to all the mechanical parts that make this puppy tick, it is hard as a rock and not cuddly in any way. My son used to try to drag him around the house and it's just silly seeing him drag this heavy, stiff animal around.
He did enjoy him the first few days, but now the puppy is lucky to get his attention once every few weeks. I cringe every time I think of all the other quality toys I could have gotten him for what I paid for this. Not recommended!

(More customer reviews)I got this toy for my son's birthday. I never saw the original Elmo from the Nineties. So, I can not make a comparison. I can tell you that this thing is a battery hog! If the batteries are not fully charged "Cookie" will not go through all his moves and has trouble getting up. On the other hand, when his batteries are fully charged, he almost seems to be too revved up. He sometimes falls back down after he gets up. But, he will stand up again if he falls. All in all, this toy does make my son happy. He laughs at it a lot. So do I, sometimes. Just be ready to change the batteries more often than you do with most toys. And that is six (yes six AA) batteries, not two or even four.

Fisher Price Motorized Roaring T-Rex Dinosaur - Green Review

(More customer reviews)My son (5) received this for Christmas and it's been a huge hit! My younger son (3) is constanly begging to play with it. My nephew (2) and husband play with it as well. This toy spans all ages. It's much bigger then the regular T-Rex by Imaginext but still has all the same great safety features such as fierce looking teeth without being sharp. The animatronic movements and sounds are pretty cool and justify the pricetag since this toy is rarely left alone. A great addition to the Imaginext prehistoric line. Now all I have to do is buy a couple more.

Fisher-Price: Toby the Totbot Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son's first birthday and he loves it. It sings 3 songs, does the numbers, letters, shapes, and makes these little robot noises between each. The toy is holding up pretty great considering the amount of abuse it had in only a week. My son tries to play with him while he moves, and he also banged it into the floor a couple times. A few times I thought he was going to break it, but it is still in great condition. It is easy for him to play with. Also on the bottom there is a button so if toby is lying down, he won't move, but if he is standing he will move. I personally think that this toy is better than leap frog brand toys.

(More customer reviews)My son got this for his 4th birthday. He was THRILLED to get it, and couldn't wait to get it home and start playing with it. He even tried to take it to bed the first night!
The first few days, he played with it repeatedly throughout the day. After a few days, he tired of it. He still enjoys the remote control aspect, but only uses it for 5 minutes or so at a time.
Pros: The BigFoot can do some pretty neat stuff, especially to a 4-year old boy! With the touch of a button, he roars, flips, burps, yells and throws a ball. The first time my son had him flip, he thought it was amazing and couldn't wait to do it over and over again. The remote is also easy to operate, and has just enough buttons to make it interesting and not overly complicated for the age group.
Cons: Some of the actions are not performed quite as smoothly or easily as on the commercials. For instance, to get the BigFoot to throw the ball, you have to place the ball just so, and hope the mechanical thumb closes around it. If it doesn't lock or close tight enough, the ball just falls right back out. Also, the ball doesn't really get thrown so much as dropped with style. Still entertaining for a 4-year old, but only after many, many frustrating efforts getting the ball to stick. Another con is the sheer size/weight of the toy. When it flips over or falls backwards, it lands with a boom. My son used it in a bedroom with laminate wood floor, and there is now a little chip in the floor from the BigFoot landing with such force. It makes odd mechanical noises when it breaths and moves its arms in resting mode, and when it moves around. This makes it a little hard to hear it talk at times, over the whirring. Lastly, and this is the one that my son wishes were different - it only moves backwards and forwards, not side to side. If you're trying to steer it around the room, good luck!
Overall, it's a pretty darned neat toy. For the money, I wish they'd made it more maneuverable and fixed the ball throwing.

It has a ton of phrases and voice interaction- "Make a sound if you want me to dance". The price seems to be worth it. I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a fun toy for a boy (or girl)!
